4th Quarter Newsletter 2011
Since our last Newsletter in September we have been to Western Australia, met with quilters in Maddington, Bibra Lake, Midland, Wangarra, Willetton and Toodyay. We have been to Eltham and Wonthaggi, spent a few days at the Craft and Sewing Show in Caulfield. We met over 90 quilters in Mt Gambier and Bordertown and still managed a workshop in Albury and Young.
Leonie released her Adjustable Dresden Plate Tools, 4 different wedge sizes.
In this Newsletter:
* Stripes - Let the fabric do the work for you
* Adjustable Dresden Plate
* A free pattern based on the Square in the Square Block from our Sampler Quilt
* New pattern - Spinning Hexagon
* Coming Soon!
While our products are available directly from us, I would encourage you, where possible to buy from Patchwork Stores stocking our products, after all they do have the fabric, threads and most other bits and pieces you might need. If you are unsure where to get them, please drop us email and we will get back to you with a location of the nearest supplier.
If you have any questions about our products or just want to comment, please drop us an email, we do like to hear from you.
Stripes
If you were doing the Sampler Quilt and have purchased some of the templates or have the Quarter Square Triangle, the Kaleidoscope Set, the Epsilon Star Setter or even the Half Hexagon Stash Buster, then there is something for you in this article.
Once you start to look at what the fabric can do for you, you may start to look at fabric differently. Stripes and border prints are invaluable in your quilting, the extra detail that can be added by using stripes is amazing and they can create very complex quilts without adding pieces to be cut and sewn.
You can download it by clicking the right mouse button on the following icon and saving it to your hard drive.
You can print it by clicking the left mouse button on the icon above opening the pdf file.

Adjustable Dresden Plate
The Dresden Plate is a beautiful traditional block, I have been asked on many occassions for a tool to make Dresden Plate blocks. The plates are pieced the appliqued to the block. I also wanted to give choices on the tops and centres for the Dresden Plate and I have done this for the 8 point and will have similar options for the other wedge sizes soon
Details for this new product are on our home page. Supplies are going out to Patchwork stores.
Available in 8 point - 10 point - 16 point and 20 point plates
The set is available and can viewed on our Home page

Double Wedding Ring
Many piecer's have found that our Templates with Fabric Guides give an accuracy in cutting they have not had before, templates that do not move as you cut and sewing techniques which make it much easier. I am being asked to design traditional patterns that take advantage of the guided templates and the easy piecing techniques.
The Double Wedding Ring is one of the patterns that many quilters have difficulty with when it comes to putting the quilt together. My new Block Design makes the quilt in Blocks made up of half square triangles, the pieces are designed to be cut with a standard 45mm Rotary Cutter. The arc can be made with 1 piece, 2 pieces or 8 pieces.
The centre of the block is made of 8 pieces and can be made as a pinwheel or you can make the pieces from sewn strips for a completely new take on this traditional quilt.
I will be posting all the details in January
The sets will be available January 2012
2012
